Hello, I am starting to collect everything ready to set up my axolotl tank, I have decided to use reptile grass for the bottom of the tank, however I was wondering if any of you had any ideas of how to anchor fake plants to the bottom of the tank, any ideas would help!!
Thanks.

Oh, would it work if you sewed straight onto the fake grass? And how would you tie it if the fake plants didn't have holes in the bottom base?

Most fake plants have fronds...you could anchor it using the base of one of these...but you will need to lift the grass for cleaning occasionally so the sewn on plants would be a pain. What is reptile grass?...is it Aquarium safe....remember chemicals can leech out over time.

Reptile grass is just fake grass, it's easier to find when its called reptile grass. Yea I know this, but I don't like the idea of sand in the bottom of the tank, and I don't like bare tanks, so I thought fake grass would be quite interesting.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
