My name is Seth and I am from Longview/Kelso Wa. A smaller town near Portland Or. I am graduating this year and plan on moving out into my own place with many critters to love. This includes a Kitten I am getting on the 18th of this month, a tank of fish and an eel. I recently had two amazing rats I loved named Snowden and Templeton. Sadly they passed away this summer and I plan on getting a new critter to make up for it. An Axolotl! Or two :p I have been doing "alotl" research on Axolotls and www.axolotl.org referred me here in my search for the right place to find one :) I hope I can find a nice deal here from someone who wants to find a caring owner. Maybe even some other critters in the future. But in the mean time I'm proud to be apart of this awesome community!
P.S. Feel free to email or private message me any time.

Hi Seth, welcome to the site. :)
I had a pet rat many years ago, it used to go everywhere with me in the lining of my leather jacket. The only problem with rats is they have such a short life span, I was gutted when mine died.

They are amazing animals :) I was surprised to find out how similar they were to dogs when it comes to companionship and even training!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
