Hello, first time I actually take part here as I have been looking at newt information on the web for nearly twenty years now. Thank you

I have kept both Chinese and Japanese fire bellied newts in New Zealand for along time and only recently moved to south east Asia where I hope to keep a lot more different newts among other things.

So far in twenty odd years I've bred both newts mentioned, leopard gecko, a large variety of both freshwater and marine fish and mollusces plus various animals and birds.

My work is with livestock and plants so being deaf doesn't really matter with them ?

Looking forward to this community

Welcome! New here myself. With all your experience you will be a great contributer to this community!

Thanks for the welcome Tiger Mum Tammy (love the name) and all the best yourself here.
Hope you learn as much as I have over the years reading other people's experiences.

I'll post soon on commercially breeding axolotl and fire Bellied newts as they were similar.

TMT - Tiger Salamanders look great . Need to do some research on those

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
