Well i lurked for a while, then i registered and lurked a while longer and now i reckon it's time to post.
I've kept and bred various amphibians over the last 20 years on and off and now, after a break of a few years, i'm starting again, but this time with more focus, starting with a really nice pair of Salamandra salamandra terrestris. I wasn't planning on starting until we move, but i saw these at Doncaster a couple of weeks back and just couldn't resist.
But, once we have moved house and settled in there will be a few more additions. Not too much as i want to be able to enjoy it without it becoming a chore ( been there and done that). Sometimes it's too hard to resist, but i have a list of what i want to work with, with two extra slots for those "omg! i have to have those!!" purchases, but then thats it, i swear! :D

Anyway, hello, and i look forward to sharing some pictures and experiences in the forthcoming future!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
