Good Morning,

I am new to this forum and live in the beautiful state of Florida near Tampa. After joining this forum and doing tons of research I have decided to start my very own axolotl tank. I have a 55G which has many live plants and has been cycling for almost a month now as well as a 10G which has been cycling for about a week. I ordered 4 juvies from people on this site last week and am raising them in the smaller 10G until they are a little bigger to put them in the 55G. So far everything seems to be going great and I cannot wait to watch them grow up. I'm still deciding on names for them but here are some pictures.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
