I have an Axi that gets stressed when she is hungry and gulps a lot of air and ends up floating. I try to feed her bloodworm cubes twice a day, but sometimes only get once a day. I have been recently lifting her out of the water for about 30 seconds before feeding her and she opens her mouth and lets out air. When she goes back in the water she no longer floats and is able to eat okay. When I put feeder fish in the tank, she and her tank mate eat them up quickly and she doesn't float.
Is there any reason I shouldn't "burp" her and how can I get her to chill out? She is the hyper one to the point that she often misses food on the first and second try because she is so eager. Her tank mate is chilled and very easy to feed.
