Hi this is Gary from Aqua-Pharm,
As many of you know we are manufactures of food and medication as well as breeders of many Salamander and Frog species used in animal research.
I have been a big fan of caudata.org for many years but have not been an active member in the past. After hearing the details of recently announced Interstate movement and importation ban under the Lacey Act, I felt I should get involved with this site to take up arms in fight against this short sited ill conceived legislation. We are all in favor of taking the steps to improve import and quarantine regulations. But many of the species listed are rare or endangered animals in the wild that need the support of science, the pet trade and hobbyist to protect them from extinction. My goal here is to help pass along information from the animal research perspective and to keep you all informed on how the permit and exception laws will unfold over the next few months.
To my new Hobbyist friends I say that battles must be fought on many fronts and in this war you are not alone.
