Hi,
I'm Saranna & I live in Dublin, Ireland :) I''m 22, a student, & studying art. I keep a couple of kinds of amphibians & reptiles, & as of yet, I currently don't have many kinds of newts. Unfortunately in Ireland there aren't any breeders, & most shops just supply firebellies & the occasional paddle tail. There are a bunch of species I'd love to keep, mostly European.

Im interested in botany, sculpture, taxidermy, animal behaviour & obviously, herpetology ;)

Hi, welcome to the site. :)
Some of my family used to live in Bray just outside Dublin, Its a beautiful area, I'd love to go back there some day.

I'm actually pretty close to Bray, I'm in Dun Laoghaire :) It's quite a nice spot too, all the towns south of the city & by the coast are usually good for a wonder about!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
