I have about 40 more eggs on some plants, should take them off or just put the plants in a tub with 2 to 3 inches of water

It depends if you have small enough foods for the larvae. If not, I'd take the adults out, because their tank probably has small enough live foods in it to sustain the larvae. If you plan on selling them across state lines, you may need to ship them as eggs, what species are they? And here are a few helpful links to help get you started on what to do with the eggs: Caudata Culture Articles - Microfoods Caudata Culture Articles - Raising Newts and Salamanders from Eggs Caudata Culture Articles - Shipping

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
