I've had 3 newts in a 15 gallon filtered tank
Temps were fine and water was tested.
The first newt died of unknown causes.
The 2 other newts have not eaten for 2 months.
It's driving me crazy and now the poor guys are showing bones ;(
Is there a way to put them down? Nothing barbaric, please.
Believe me, I've tried so much.
I tried to make the tank smaller, separate them, etc.
I talked to the pet store and this was there response
" well our newts don't eat here either. They come in stressed out and we sell em very cheap so people will take them off our hands"
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? Now I'm stuck feeling like the bad guy cause I failed the newts
What do I do :( I feel so bad

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
