Hello,
I'm Jackie and i live in Hertfordshire (UK)
I have an Axolotl called Gary. Although i'm pretty certain she's female. She doesn't seem to mind the name.
She's a white/pink Axo with black eyes. (Is there a name for that type?)
I've had her since she was tiny (6 months old i was told) and that was in 2012. So shes's at least 4 years old now.
Been having a few health issues recently (which i'll post in a different section). But that's why ive joined as you guys are so helpful and knowledgeable.
Anyother Axo lovers near me in Herts?
Thanks

Hi Jackie :)

I'm also in Hertfordshire. I started with axolotl and now only have one, but I have a few other types of Caudata.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
