Today is supposed to b feeding day for our 6 month old axies...only one out of 3 is big enough for earth worms...the other 2 can eat the little red wigglers but we mainly feed them all the frozen blood worms for now....my kids just informed me that we are out of blood worms and of course its sat evening so no pet store open till monday here...is there any other ideas what I could feed them they are obviously hungry.

Very thin cut up beef heart , small frozen shrimp , soft salmon pellets

You can chop earthworms into small pieces and feed them to the smaller axies.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
