He eats night crawlers which are nutritionally whole. He refuses all pellets and other foods.
The while lumps are new. I know the irridescent spots are normal, but the white lumps aren't.

The pictures aren't very clear. Can you get some clearer one's of his tail?

Those are as clear as I can get with the tea making the water dim if he wanders by the front I can try again.
There aren't any lacerations on his tail.....the final part was just sitting weird on the rock and made it curl. He's the only axie in the tank and he gets 2 big night crawlers every other day.

From the pic I thought there was a chunk out of his tail as well, but I can see now that it's a trick of that rock being in front and behind.

I've merged the two posts as some of the photo's are clearer than others.
I don't think that these are iridophores, but may be a type of fungus. Have a look through the forum search button for fungus / axolotl/ bumps.

There is nothing wrong - the shiny spots are iridophores and the white bumps are paratoid glands that produce slime coat.
Here are some clearer pics from today. They don't "seem" to have spread. He has the normal shiny flat spots clustered at the tail tip, a bit of tail pinkNess (which I assume is normal since no one said otherwise when I made a past thread,) some tail veins and then the white bumps. They are not fuzzy. Just under the skin lumps.

Here's some new pics of the Stelly Belly. The iridophores are still there and the white bumps are too, but I don't think they have spread. Toes are improving. They are black now but not as bony.

Thorninmyside:Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation+1

Clareclare:Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?+1
