I recently added some driftwood into my axie tank. Naturally it has caused my ph to drop a bit below what it should be for axolotls :/

Does anyone know how to safely raise ph back up?

Bog wood is excellent for helping to create water parameters for Amazonian tetras.
Bog wood will continue to leach tannins even after frequent and prolonged soaking and water changes.
I'd not start playing around with pH by adding things to get higher values best use the bog wood for creating environments for animals which inhabit areas containing high tannins, low pH and...bog wood,

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
