I've been reading up on here, general info/tips. I think I might be over feeding my axies. They ignore any food that isn't live so I have to feed live earthworms that I buy from angling supplier. The worms are quite big, but I can't cut them up as they won't be live and will not get eaten. They eat at least one a day each, but is that too much? They are always interested and snatch it from me.

Aim for their belly to be as wide as their head. I have an 8.5 inch axie and he gets one cut up earth worm once each day and sometimes once every other day. Depending on how hungry he looks.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
