Is it normal for axolotl to be shy when first coming home?

I just received my first two axolotls about 4 days ago. They're about 10 months old (they're brothers). They hide for a vast majority of the day and night. I think they're a bit active while i'm sleeping or early in the morning, I'm not sure. It was a struggle feeding them because they're always hiding. Am I worrying over nothing? Maybe it takes some time for them to become comfortable?

Yes it can take a few days for them to settle in. They will venture out when they feel like it, and will eventually recognise you.
