So I have 2, 2in axolotls, and I've been kinda worried (they're my first axolotls so I freak out about everything they do) but one of them keeps lifting her head up. She's constantly like this whenever I see her, and my other one never does this. I'll try to attatch pictures, but is this normal? I also noticed her tail is "wavy" sometimes when she sticks her head up? I don't know if I'm making sense lol, please help :)

Here's another photo - the other one was of the tail this is of how she stands all the time (her tail is bent cause she turned not because of stress) she stands like this about 70% of the time, idk if she's just curious or what.. I compared her to my gfp axolotl is you can tell the difference.

They both look perfectly fine to me. :) Cute and adorable!

The "wavy" tail is only because she is raising her head up to look at you and beg for food. If you take a straight sheet and lift one end up, the flat end will wave too, it's perfectly normal.

Raised noses for mine usually mean they are looking for food. lol Feed her and she will be happy. :D

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
