Yes an specialist vet did the surgery without fuss. A 2 hour drive from my place so it was a big deal for Pumpkin in lots of ways.
That's great! Can I ask what it set you back?
I have taken my sals to the vet as well. It helps when you have a vet who's worth bringing them to.

She is doing very well. They heal so fast! Long term not clear as it may grow back

I congratulate you on your commitment to your pet. I have ferrets and every time they sneeze it costs me a couple hundred. But when you love your animal, and take your responsibility seriously, it's worth it.

Thorninmyside:Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation+1

Clareclare:Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?+1
