Recently I noticed my axolotl has small, red dots all over her body, and even on her stomach. She also has a small white fuzzy thing on one of her gills, I think this is a fungus. The gill that the white stuff is on also looks like it's slowly deteriorating. What is a safe and gentle method to get rid of this fungus on her gills, and are the red dots harmful??? I have tried to take off the fungus with a q tip, but it won't come off at all. The white fungus has also been slowly getting bigger. I have pictures attached, to see the reds dots you might have to zoom in and look closely. Thanks!!!:happy:

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
