I bought a pvc pipe for my Axie and I decided that I wanted to paint it to match the rest of my tank. I've read that acrylic paint is fine to use as long as you have an aquarium safe sealant over it. Would my food safe resin be safe to use once it's fully cured? And if It's not safe, does anyone have any recommendations on what I should use instead?

If the epoxy says food safe, then it should be fine for use in the tank. There's also a spray paint called Krylon Fusion that many people use. The company does not outright say that it's safe for aquarium use, but quite a bit of people have used it with great results. Just make sure it cures properly before putting it in the water.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
