Hi, I'm very worried, I changed the water after separating my axolotls that I've had for around 5 months, my golden boy is separated due to an injury, he is healing quite nicely, but when I changed the water and tested it's ph before I placed my black girl back in , she begun to get a white film over her last night, I held her (I know that's bad) over the bubbles and the white film or gunk came off but has came up with small pimply dots all overher body, is it a parasite , is the the water, I really don't want to lose her, so I'm open any suggestions , really worried about my girl , she is her usual alert, hungry self (she eats and eats earthworms from my garden ) but I don't over feed her, the photos don't really bring up the bumps but you can get an idea

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
