Hi!

I am going on vacation labor day weekend for 4 days and can't find anyone to take care of my axolotl while i'm away. It will be about 4 months when I leave. What is the best thing to do when I am going to be away?

Thanks!

An axie can survive fine without any attention for four days. How often do you feed it?

Just feed them before you go, and when you get back feed them again! A little extra should help.

I don't know what you feed them, but don't leave too much to foul the tank. If they eat live earthworms, those will stay fine for four days. Even cut in half.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
