Hi I just had a question. I woke up this morning and went to check on my little buddy and he was nowhere to be found! I panicked until I realized he had climbed the filter and was sitting out of the water. He later went back into the water after about 30 minutes. But he still has full gills. The water quality is perfect and I can’t fugure out why he seems to like going out of the water. Any suggestions?

Might just want some air. My mostly aquatic sals do that sometimes.

What do you mean by water dog?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
