SOSdoes any one know what this bump on my poor guy is (please don’t mention his weight or anything as he has been like this for a long time please search my name and read previous posts if concerned)

I’m thinking parasite but how do I treat that ? He’s the only one in his 20 gallon tank sorry for poor quality photo will use my good camera latter, looks like a zit almost it has a little something hanging out, water parameters are also fine as I just checked

His gills on the one side are super curled I feel like it’s irritating them, so worried about him
I have been able to find anything soemmone suggested an extra limb growth but I don’t know... I’m starting to not think it’s not parasites..

To me it looks like possible limb growth as well. If very concerned take him to a local vet specialist.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
