I was just reading in this thread about fish antibiotics. Who has tried them? In what dosage? What health issues has it helped against? Please share your story.
THank you

Hi Otterwoman
i have tried API Furan-2 it works pretty well for foot infections for my female A.opacum.
the whole foot was rotting and dropped off
i mixed about 1/3 teaspoon with 500ml of cool water 15c and soak for 30 mins each day for about 2 weeks. and so far the wound has closed up and on the road to recovery.

i haven't tried triple-sulphur called yellow powder yet. i heard it is also effective but much more potent. so a lesser dosage should be used.
cheers!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
