Hi. I`m seeking help from Japan, hope the community can help me out.
I`ve been keeping two pet salamanders( Tsushima Salamander from the Hynobius family)
and I haven`t had any problems for the past 2 years. Until Yesterday, when I checked out my salamanders, they seem to have lost their skin color, by alot.
Their usual skin color is light to dark brown with some golden spots. But now, they have a light gray to almost white-ish skin color. To add to that, they seem to be bleeding internally, for their belly color is red-ish to pink.
in their house, i have found some white fungus growing(already got rid of it) and I`m assuming it`s some sort of fungal infection...?
I`ve came across a post saying malachite green goes best, but I`m not really into giving them that kind of stuff.
Has anyone had a similar experience, or does anyone have a good solution to it?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
