Why the server was down this weekend

I apologise for the server being unavailable for some of Sunday and Monday. This was due to a software error that caused an enormous use of CPU time on the server. The ISP decided to shoot first and ask questions later. I've resolved that problem.

Once more, I apologise for any inconvenience. This problem shouldn't happen again but, as always, I can't promise 24/7 365 day perfect service.

Thanks for fixing it, you only know how much you miss a thing when you check for it as often as I did.. ;)

I had to do work at work...imagine that. Thanks for all you do, John (and others).

My brother was on the computer for 4 hours (!) and when I finally got on, I went on Caudata.org and it says server unreachable. "4 hours for this!" Cheers, John! I nearly died lol

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
