can anyone tell me how to go about getting a permit to ship an axolotl from USA to Canada?Thank you much

you need proof of importation or captive breeding within the US, and a permit approving export of a CITES animal. ON the Canadian side they need copies of both and no paperwork. That's if my research is correct.

thanks John

Is there anyone here who has an exporting license?I can provide captive breeding paper work, but I don't want to shell out the $$$ for an export license for only 2 axies.E-mail me privately if you might be able to help, thanks.

The name is Rob though.

Why do you need to get two axies to Canada? Seems like a lot of work for just two animals.

Sorry Rob,my brain was on melt down there for awhile.

I have two axies for sale and the lady who wants the lives in BC.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
