Well my mom went to the vet with my newt today (for those of you who know about my common lizard named newt, it didn't cause any confusion. I got the baytril, but they gave me a siringe (no needle) and told me I need to force feed it to him, contrary to advice on the site. But I think they're trying to exploit me, they said that if the wound didn't heal by Saturday they might HAVE TO DO SURGERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why????? Because he might have an "obstruction" in his mouth. Sounds like a bit of fibbing to me. Help me out here, should I listen to her advice.

Take it to another vet for a second opinion if you can afford it. You can justify to yourself the extra cost by considering it the cost of finding a trustworthy vet. It took me a while before I found mine

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
