On the website of the Dutch salamander society (www.salamanders.nl) we have placed and will be placing articles on species as pdf files (under "salamanders" and "soorten" (=species). These articles were orginaly written for a book that we published, but now we have made pdf versions of individual chapters. although they are in dutch, they have mostly decent english summaries and nice colour pictures. In the booklet they were mostly in black and white. among the first ones are Hynobius articles by Henk Wallays..says enough!

hi what are the chances of getting one of the books can you do them in english.
thanks tony.

The book is in dutch and was written for our 20th anniversary of the Salamander society by experienced members of our society. There are no plans for translating it, in fact it is almost out of stock. It is a lot of work to do translations. But perhaps a book publisher shows interest to do this...

hi serge
how much is a book and can you send to the uk.
thankyou tony.

The book is 15 euro (post and package included).
And yes, I can send it to the UK.
Easiest thing is to send me the money and I'll send you the book.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
