Hello there to everyone, I am a recent member and would just like to get to know other people interested in caudata! I have two spanish ribbed newts, one hong kong newt, and 7 chinese firebelly newts. I live in Alberta, Canada, and just recently got the two SRN's and the HKN. Hoping I can get plenty of information about these new members of my newt family from the members and maybe meet some fellow Canadian enthus's!!!

Hey Danny,

you have come to the right place to find some caudata lovers. You'll find everything and more on the forum and via the 'links'. If you have questions just post them and they will be answered.

Oh yes, I'm Joeri from Belgium and I have Pleurodeles and Cynops Orientalis too.

Hi Danny.

Welcome

. There are a lot of Canadians on the forum (some are quiet - they just read). If you follow this link: http://www.caudata.org/forum/cgi-bin/allusers.cgi , take a look at the nationalities/locations. You can then contact people via email through the private message link at the bottom of each one's profile.

I hope you find the site useful and it's nice to see new faces

Best wishes,

Hey Danny - I'm also from Edmonton. I keep Tylototriton Shanjing, Tylototriton Taliangensis and Taricha Granulosa.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
