Salamander feeding movies

I'm new to the group, so my apologies if this is old news. There is a great site with short movies of feeding in 14 different salamanders spread over a wide range of families. These are clips from research work, so there is a scale grid behind the beast and information on the speed (usually in fractions of a second) that the clip represents. For some species there are also spectacular color photos of the tongue fully extended. The URL is:

http://violet.berkeley.edu/~deban/feedingmovieindex.html

Included is a video of the salamander with the longest tongue (both absolutely and relative to body size)and (on the other end of the spectrum) }a Cryptobranchus suction feeding.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
