I made a quick website about outdoor vivaria there is also a forum. anybody that is interested please post or mail me any contributions you would like to make.

Well a couple suggestions:

1. Put Bufo bufo under the toad heading instead of the frog heading.

2. A compatibillity chart would be quite useful, I mean you don't want some one going on your site and then mixing an axolotl with many of the smaller aquatic species, and ending up with huge losses. Also you should make it clear that mixing animals from different continents is not advisable.

3. Though I am not completely sure, I have a feeling that there are many american and asian species which would be fine (not mixed with european species of course) in England's climate that have not included in the species list. I can think of only two right now which happen to be particularly invasive species: red eared terrapins, and american bullfrogs.

4. Some people here keep axolotls in out door ponds, they won't run away.

Well I hope I have helped you.

Thanks for pointing that out about the toads obviously didnt read back over it.

Thanks for the other suggestions if you notice in the forum there is a section about mixing in outdoor vivaria but I do plan on adding a compatibility section.

check back regularly as It will continue to grow

thanks again

Didnt forget them just havent gotten round to adding them yet, there are literally hundreds of species that can be kept outside so it will take quite a while before I can list them all.

Thanks Ben check back regularly though, as we have 5 new members since last night. si the site will continue to grow.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
