Thanks Jen, I will try that!

I just did! Got a few good images to work with!

This one, when carved, will be about six feet long!

Please post a photo of your sculpture when it's done!

Does the sculpture maybe have anything to do with the conservation and protection plans for the great crested newts in the UK?

Yes Coen!

A few years back, apparently, there was a pond with G/C/Newts, they created a new pond and relocated them, but it was not successful, they did not survive the move.
There stands an industrial estate there now!

There is more development going on in the area and two big oaks have to come out, they are looking at having me carve something out of them, I suppose its their way of kind of,warrenting the removal, use the timber instead of dumping it!

Jennifer.....

If it all goes to plan I will post pix of Giant Newt Beast!

I also have some 'Bulls', a giant 'Spade and Fork, and a nature Totem????

A nice mix of sculptures! (Fingers Crossed!)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
