Since I see a number of introductions I might as well introduce myself. My name is Chuck Powell and I've just recently started keeping salamanders (4 or 5 months ago) and find them very interesting. I have been working with frogs, mainly Dendrobatids for almost 20 years. I live in San Jose, California, and put on the American Frog Day for the past 9 years (www.frogday.org (http://www.frogday.org)), was editor of the old International Society for the Study of Dendrobatids Newsletter (ISSD) for its last few years and published the American Dendrobatid Group Newsletter when it was active, 9 years.

I am a molluscan paleontologists by profession working for the US Geological Survey, have been married for 26 years and I'm still crazy about my wife. We have four kids from 20 to 13, two boys and two girls, and are active in our Church.

I have many interests including plants, shells, insects, photography, and, oh course, reptiles and amphibians. But it all revolves around nature.

I'm currently keeping one East Coast salamander and several local species. Since I'm new I don't have much to trade, at least salamander wise, but if you have other interests let me know.

Welcome Chuck. I'm glad to see you participating in this group. Salamanders are still pretty much hobbyist oriented like dart frogs were back in the old days. This is the best place to find caudate info.
