I would like to say a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year to all Caudata.org members.
Keep up the good work for another 12 months.

Neil

I echo Neil's sentiments. Caudata.org continues to go from strength to strength and it's all thanks to you guys and girls, the users.

May I also say that I am very grateful to all of those who have donated to the site over the last year, particularly during the crazy time that was the beginning of May. I was seriously concerned for the site's future at that time but I reckoned without your generosity and speedy action. Thank you!

After the lovely Caudata Culture I have decided I will change the look of Caudata.org (which I've decided I don't like the look of) and I will move on to the magazine, which will happen.

I would also like to wish a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone at caudata.org

So, what are you getting your newts for Christmas?

Mike
Not buying my newts anything for christmas seeing as they are already spoiled, but I may pop in the newt room christmas morning and sing them a few festive songs, [punk rock style of course]

Rudolph the Red-nosed Salamander,
Had a very vibrant pattern,
And if you ever saw it,
You would even say it glows,
All of the other sallies,
Used to laugh and call him dull,
They never let poor Rudolph join them in the
swimming hole,
Then one foggy Christmas Eve the owner came
to say,
Rudolph with your pattern so bright,
Won't you be my pet tonight,
Then how the sallies loved him,
As they shouted out with glee,
Rudolph the Red-nosed Salamander,
You'll go down in history!!

Silent Newt,
Holy Newt,
All is clamy,
All is wet,
Round yun Salamander,
Mother and Larva,
Holy Larva so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
