I knew of somebody that was going to a nice newt spot so I asked if they could bring one back. I am now a proud keeper of a Taricha Granulosa. If I can get access to a digital camera I'll show you Ned and his new home.

I know you've been waiting a long time, Tyler. Glad to hear your wish finally came true. I'm sure lots of us would love to see photos.

To others that may be reading, I will point out that Tyler has planned and set up the tank for this animal way in advance. It's not a case of an impulse acquisition.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
