Morty the sick newt

so remember morty, the newt that didn't eat? well he's still not eating. now he has signs of sickness. His eyes are cloudy blue colored. Him and his tank mate have been together for 4 years now, and his tank mate is fat and healthy. Eats like a rabid wolf.

Anyways, anyone know what his could be? Couldy eyes, refusing food. I've tried blackworks, pinheads, night crawlers. That's all i can get around here without ordering it over the net. I've never seen a newt turn down fresh blacck worms though.....

Thanks in advance. I know i've already had a lot of posts on this topic, and the main response was he was sick and prolly is old. Which is fine, I just want to make sure there's NOTHING i can do.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
