I've got a small (1.5 inches at most!) Tylototriton verrucosus on the verge of morphing (sitting ontop of the plants a lot, not wanting to dive). I plan on setting them up in a long tub (~30 gals), propped up on one end, so the top is dry, the bottom has ~2 inches of water. I want the little morphing one to be able to climb out. Since he's on plastic, I thought maybe putting reptile carpet (The green stuff) in the tub so he can get traction to climb out. Has anyone ever used this? Is it safe in aquatic situations?
