Any advice on how to treat an isolated patch of fungus on an egg sac to prevent it spreading. Other than this one spot of fungus, the sac is a healthy one and I'd like it to stay that way. I dabbed the fungus with a Q-tip dipped in an anti-fungus solution, but only a very mild solution as I'm afraid of possible adverse effects on the embryos.

I obviously can't clip the part with fungus from the egg sac without endangering the other embryos. For now, I've inserted a leaf between the affected part and the adjacent unaffected part, figuring that would be better than nothing.

I wouldn't worry about it - they're so advanced that I think it won't harm them.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
