I have a fire belly newt which i got live elodia plants for on Saturday. I noticed when i got home that the plant had one small snail. It a little under half a centimeter in lenght. Will this snail be able to reproduce on its own. If so can it reproduce at this size ? Im certain their is only one snail in there. Today when I got back, it did however find this weird creature which i dont like at all. I dont even know what it is. It was on the glass when i saw it. Its a clear color so its very hard to see. Has no shell and is rather flat. Its an ovalish shape and about 1/4 of an inch long. The way it moved was kinda weird also. It moved by folding itself in half. as if it was clapping with its whole body. I could not find any information on what it could be online. Please help ! !I dont want billions of these things to pop out of nowhere. I couldnt find any more of this things, but then again you can barely see them. I even lost the one i saw earlier today. I couldnt find it. I hope my newt eats it soon

Any help would be appreciated.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
