Pregnant Redback Salamander

I have a female redback salamander who i think is pregnant. She is twice as thick as a normal one, kind of lethargic, and has a big; floating white section with a red vein in the middle near the bottom of her body. i moved her into her own tank and put a piece of rotton log with her. Is she pregnant? How should i care for her and the newly hatched redbacks? How long will it take for her to lay her eggs and have them hatch? How long will it be, after they're hatched, before i can move them in with the adults?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
