Hi my bro has a chinese firebellied newt and it lost it stail some how and it hasnet grown back, its been about 3 months

I believe it is possible for a limb to be injured in such a way that it won't grow back. Does that answer your question?

I agree with Jen, sometimes limbs just don't grow back. I guess it just depends how its lost. Lots of sals and geckos intentionally lose their tails, but then grow it back, but I wonder if firebellies do the same, their tails don't seem built like that. Well in any event, it may just be taking a long time. Its not the end of the world if it doesn't though, just make sure your brother really keeps nutrition up, because thats a fat store that the newt can no longer draw nutrients from. Alex.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
