Hi there, how are we all. I'm just wanting to get a little feed back really. I currenly own two fire salamanders, Pyro and Burnadette, as well as a good few lizards, and I was thinking about introducing a new friend to the vivarium. I've done some reading but can't seem to find out if the new member to there group might upset the balance. I would like to get some different morphs but am unsure where there is some reputable slamander breeders in the uk?

Also I havn't seen much of the two in recent weeks they seem to have taken stock under there log, They are eating as the crickets are gone but I'm not sure that they are ok? is this normal?

If anyone can help me out on this I'd be very gratefull. If you could reply to my email, id be even more gratefull

so are the two fire salamanders housed with the other lizards?

My salamanders only come to the surface when there is food, otherwise they're under the dirt.

Yes. mixing species in one vivarium is highly not recommanded. I think all reputated salamander breeders will not let you mix their morphs with other animals.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
