Can anyone identify this sal?

I was in my backyard, looking for salamanders, when i found one i've never seen before. It was a reddish orang, about 3 1/2 inches long, and had darkish spots. I found it in the leaves, nowhere near any water. I think it's terrestrial because of where it was. It's about as big as the common redback salamander.

It's probably a red eft. It's a juvenile phase of the eastern spotted newt, Notophthalmus viridescens.
