Orange Newt?

I was at the pet store tonight, looking for another fire belly newt.
I asked the lady if they had any, and she said, "No, but we do have a pretty orange newt"

So She took me to the tank, and OMG, it was so beautiful! It was about 4 inches long, very plump body and a solid orange colour.

Does anyone know what type of newt this is? Can anyone point me in the right direction for info? I'd like to learn more about this interesting newy.

One of my tarichas is pretty solidly orange. You wouldn't want to mix them with your fire belly though.
Take care,
Mary.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
