can anyone tell me some basic info telling me how to breed them

1. Keep them cold in winter (below 65F).
2. Feed them well all year round, especially with worms.
3. Provide good basic care and minimize stress.
Do this, and you'll have offspring within 2 years, almost guaranteed.

hey jennifer, you said when breeding, to keep the water below 65F, how do you do that? is there some kind of cooler? (kinda like a heater, but the direct opposite)

you can purchase a cooling device for aquariums, or just keep their enclosure in a cold area. Some of my newts like it colder than 65F, so I keep them for a couple months in a cooler at 38-40F. This might work for yours, just don't use as much ice as I do, and the temp probably will not get too low, but still low enough.

You could also place the enclosure by a window or door that gets a draft of cold air.
