Hello,

I saw that a shop here in Hong Kong got a Spotted Salamander for sale, I tried to search on net but I couldn't find any information about the temperature range to keep them, does anyone have some idea about that? Because the temp could go so high in summer here, if I decided to keep, I have to make sure I'm well-prepared to solve the temp problem.

And I thought Spotted Salamander spending most of their time on ground/soil/wood land? As the shop keep them in water set with live plants.

Thanks for answering! 70-71F, is it around 20 to 21c? That's not difficult to maintain though...!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
