Very odd discovery!

Ok, well i am looking for some stuff for my bearded dragon in this pet store. It is a nice one compared to most. What was cool is they had two cool caudates. The one was a tiger salamander, which i almost got, but i didn't. The next one was my discovery...

I am looking into a tank, and i see chinese dwarf firebellies. I check the tag to look at the price and it says "large firebellies and small firebellies". I look in again and among the group i see japanese firebelly newts! I knew they were as i looked them up after. I was so amazed. I didn't buy any, though.

i am not so good at directions, but it is called sea world and it is in SE MI

go and get them joan! ...though they may be a new import wave and may become common again soon...

are you talking about "pets & things" on van dyke? I would go pick up a few if you want me to ship them. i can't say they are still there, though, and they are not a very common pet shop, so it could just be they have them left over from when they were common. And, by the way, Paris, I was the topic starter! Joan doesn't even know where it is!

yeah turtlestork, i know but it didnt seem as if you were interested in getting them (obviously you didnt buy them) but it seemed joan was showing signs of wanting to get them. how much were they? how many do you think were there?

The downside is that I'm in Europe until Thursday, and leave for Canada for three months next monday. I highly doubt my newtsitter would appreciate me coming home with more animals for him to look after. They're probably w/c anyway.

PS: The shop is on Moross Road

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
