my fire salamander has white bugs on him is he going to be ok i rinsed them off what were the small white bugs?is he going to be ok? can it be treatable?!?!?!?!?

Im not sure what they were without seeing them, but I should think he will be just fine, but you may want to check his setup for the source of the white bugs.

The small white bugs are most likely to be one of two creatures. If they are small, (pin head size or smaller)round and move slowly they will be soil mites. Soil mites feed on decaying organic matter and often find their way into an enclosure through unwashed earth worms or substrate that is un-steralized. They are normally harmless but may cause irritation in large numbers. Check for open sores or signs of irritation and replace the substrate in the enclosure. Alternatively they may be springtails which are thin and normally fast moving. Springtails also feed on decaying organic matter but are no threat to your salamander.

i did a little research and now i think the are wood mites from the substrate

Dead, you should completely change the substrate and sanitize the tank/container (if you aren't sure how to do this safely, ask). Most mites don't hurt the salamander, but if you saw several of them on the salamander, I wouldn't take any chances.

Be sure to remove uneaten food and any noticable poop promptly, as these provide a breeding ground for mites.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
